At least 12 people have died, mostly women and children, after a trawler carrying Rohingya capsized near the cost of Bangladesh. The bodies were recovered from Naf river in Shahporir Dwip under Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district Monday morning. Teknaf 2 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Captain Lieutenant Colonel SM Ariful Islam said: “The trawler capsized near the river’s Gholar Char point Sunday night. Teknaf police station Office-in-Charge Md Moin Uddin Khan said: “According to the rescued Rohingya, several others are still missing. “We are trying to rescue them.”According to UNHCR, at least 515,000 Rohingya entered Bangladesh since August 25, fleeing the violence in Myanmar.
