MANILA, Philippines — Twelve Chinese health and medical experts are set to arrive in the Philippines on Sunday to give recommendations on how to improve the country’s efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease, the Department of Health (DOH) said Saturday. ADVERTISEMENTHealth Undersecretary Rosette Vergeire said the experts, composed of nurses and doctors, will visit hospitals and laboratories until April 19 to observe and recommend infection prevention protocols. (They will observe and give recommendations appropriate to steps that will improve the infection prevention control, critical care in laboratories.) Chinese health experts will visit the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine in Muntinlupa, Philippine Lung Center in Quezon City and San Lazaro Hospital in Manila, Vergeire said. The coronavirus disease is caused by the novel coronavirus which first emerged from China’s Wuhan City of Hubei province.
