JULAU: An attempt by a 16-year-old boy to rape an underage girl failed after the victim fought him off. Julau OCPD Deputy Supt Bidol Noyeng said that the boy was arrested at 5pm on Wednesday at his longhouse, about a three-hour drive from here. However, the 11-year-old girl struggled and fought him off. DSP Bidol said the suspect is a school dropout and is working in an oil palm estate. The girl, he said, had been referred to a hospital for medical attention.
