More than 100 students of Migori Boys Secondary School spent Wednesday night in the cold after a fire gutted down a dormitory. At Thim Jope Secondary School in Uriri sub-county on Monday, a dormitory of about 60 students went up in flames during night preps. Caleb Opondi, who is Migori secretary of the Kenya National Union of Teachers, called on the government to make public and act on reports on school fires. He asked institutions to ensure teachers and students are counselled as the cases are traumatising.
