Chittagong Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge AKM Mozammel Haque convicted the felons for the murder of Amzad Hossain, chairman of Sonakania Union and an Awami League leader of Satkania upazila, on October 4, 1999. The convicts are: Manik, Tarek, Faruk Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed, Idris, Zahed, Rashed, Nasir Uddin and Jashim Uddin of Sonakania in Satkania upazila. According to the prosecution, following the incident on October 4, 1999, victim’s wife Rawshan Akter filed a case against 21 people with Satkania police station. “I have been waiting for the verdict for the last 21 years,” she said.
