10 to die, 6 get life-term for raping housewife in SubarnacharNOAKHALI, Feb 5, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced 10 people to deathand six others to life imprisonment in a case filed over raping a housewifein Subarnachar upazila in 2018. Judge Fatema Ferdous of Noakhali Women and Children Repression PreventionTribunal-2 handed down the verdict in presence of 15 convicts before thecourt this morning. Among the convicts, M. Mintu alias Helal is absconding since the case wasfiled. On December 31, the day after the incident, victim's husband filed a casewith Char Jabbar Police Station. After investigation of the case, the district detective police (DB) filed acharge-sheet against 16 people on March 27, 2019.
