Mumbai: A 10-hour traffic and power block was undertaken at Diva on Sunday to ensure it gets a scheduled halt for fast trains in future. "We may carry out a few more blocks to align the tracks to ensure that fast trains can halt at Diva following the marathon Sunday block. A platform has been built to accommodate fast trains," a senior official said. A mob also vandalized five police vehicles, of which three were torched and damaged 10 suburban trains along Diva, Dombivli and Kalyan. "We took stock of the situation, assessed local needs and decided to provide a halt for fast trains at Diva.
