The incident took place when the woman was alone at her residence in Purba Begunbari, and her husband, a van-puller, was out working on Wednesday night. Police arrested the rape suspect Montaz Ali, 60, after locals apprehended him from the scene of the crime. According to the case statement, the woman used to work at the accused Montaz Ali’s lands. Thakurgaon Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tanvirul Islam said: “The woman is currently undergoing treatment at the Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital.”As soon as we receive confirmation of rape from the hospital, we’ll take necessary legal action against the accused, he added.
