A man is dead following a shooting Wednesday in Nanaimo. Gary O'Brien says the attack happened early in the morning at the Howard Johnson Hotel. He says one person is in custody but no other details are being released. A motive for the shooting is unknown. O'Brien hasn't said if the victim and attacker knew each other.
