ASSOCIATED PRESSTopline: One student died and seven were injured Tuesday in a shooting at a STEM school in Colorado, authorities said. Two students at STEM School Highlands Ranch — one adult and one juvenile — were taken into custody as suspects, Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock said. Both shooters got “deep inside the school and engaged students in two separate locations,” Spurlock said. STEM School Highlands Ranch, a public charter school, has 1,850 students — 550 in elementary school, 700 in middle school and 600 in high school. Undersheriff Holly Nicholson-Kluth said Highlands Ranch, Colorado is a "quiet community" with a "very low crime rate."
