Excise sleuths on Monday arrested Akhil , a resident of Ayiroor, Varkala, after seizing 1.5 kg of ganja from him. The 22-year-old was nabbed by a team led by Kollam Excise Circle Inspector A. Naushad from a bus shelter in the city. On questioning he confessed to sourcing ganja from Tamil Nadu and peddling it among school and college students in Kollam. He told the officials that his main customers are youngsters and students and he sells them in 5 gm packets, each priced at ₹500. He was addicted to ganja after his friends forced him to smoke it a couple of times and started peddling for both money and drugs.
