1,400 MMDA personnel to secure annual ADB meet

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Monday that it would deploy more than 1,400 personnel for the 51st Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting of Governors. MMDA Deputy Chairman Frisco San Juan said that about 1,474 personnel have been tasked to help in managing the traffic flow and provide assistance during the ADB event that was set on May 2 to May 6. The Task Group Traffic Management would be in charge of maintaining traffic where the delegates of ADB would pass through during the four-day meeting. “The concentration area is only at the Ortigas Business District, Shangri-La and ADB,” San Juan added. About 3,000 delegates, composed of finance and development ministers and central bank governors of the bank’s 67-member-economies, are expected to join the conference.
