MUMBAI: Datsun , the sister brand of Japanese auto major Nissan Motor, today rolled out its 1,00,000th car, a redi-GO 1.0L, from the Chennai manufacturing facility.The Datsun currently accounts for more than half of the total sales of Nissan Motor in India.The Renault Nissan Automotive facility at Oragadam near Chennai is a joint venture between French auto maker Renault and Nissan Motor. It has an installed capacity of producing 4.80 lakh units.The landmark moment was celebrated in the presence of Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd managing director Jerome Saigot and Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt chief executive officer Colin MacDonald. "The 1,00,000th roll out of Datsun is a strong testimony of customer acceptance and their confidence towards our brand, products and value based offerings. "On behalf of the Datsun India team, I would like to thank all our customers and dealer partners for the commitment towards our brand," Saigot said.Since the launch of the Datsun redi-GO in June 2016, Datsun India has offered three refreshed variants -- redi-GO Sport, redi-GO 1.0L and redi-GO 1.0L Gold -- so far. "We are very confident that the future is bright and exciting for the Datsun brand in India.
