(Update) Kelantan MACC nab police sergeant for soliciting, receiving bribe


KOTA BARU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a policeman for allegedly soliciting and receiving a bribe of RM2,000 in exchange for releasing a detainee whose urine had tested positive for illicit drugs. Kelantan MACC director Datuk Moh Shamsudin Yusof said the 29-year-old sergeant was detained at his workplace in Jeli yesterday afternoon. Moh Shamsudin said the policeman was picked up soon after the MACC received a report from the drug suspect. The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a policeman for allegedly soliciting and receiving a bribe of RM2,000 in exchange for releasing a detainee whose urine had tested positive for illicit drugs. The MACC obtained a remand order on the police sergeant at about noon today.
