TAWAU: Police are investigating a report on a same-sex marriage which took place in Kuala Lumpur involving two men suspected to be from Tawau. Police chief Asst Comm Fadil Marsus said the two men would be called to have their statements recorded. He said the investigation would be based on two police reports lodged in Tawau and Kota Kinabalu. He said the police also sought the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission's assistance to identify the owner of the Facebook account. On Nov 12, Tawau Youth Association chairman, Shamry Mohamad Sani lodged a report on the matter, two days after seeing the status update on Facebook under the name Pui Chi (in Chinese letters) reporting a same-sex, pre-wedding ceremony in Kuala Lumpur involving two Chinese men believed to be from Tawau.
