KUALA LUMPUR: It meant more than just bragging rights for Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie who upset world No 10 Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing in the second round of the Korea Open on Thursday. The Malaysian second-ranked mixed doubles duo showed great maturity as they clawed back from a game down, to see off their higher-ranked teammates 24-26, 21-18, 21-18 to reach their maiden Super Series quarter-finals. "For Soon Huat and I, this is a huge encouragement because Kian Meng-Pei Jing are far superior to us." The Kuala Lumpur Sea Games (KL2017) silver medallists will play German qualifiers Marvin Emil Seidel-Linda Efler next for a place in Saturday's semi-finals. It was, however, the end of the road for men's doubles Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and women's pair Soong Fie Cho-Tee Jing Yi.
