The UK will ask Kosovo to take in migrants arriving by sea as part of a plan to set up a network of “repatriation centres” abroad, The Times newspaper has revealed. The Balkan country is among nine selected by the British government as potential destinations to resettle asylum seekers after all appeals have been exhausted. The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said his country was “open” to negotiations. According to government sources quoted by the newspaper, Kosovo is a “plausible” option because it is crossed by one of the main migration routes to the EU.
