‘Troubled kid’ turned his life around, then changed how events are planned


He now runs a D.C. technology/hospitality company he invented called Social Tables. Social Tables software staged more than 800,000 events last year. Social Tables expects to be profitable by early next year. Clients subscribe to Social Tables software on an annual basis, paying from $3,000 to $20,000 a year, depending on how much software they buy and how big they are. The only big cost is customer service and the 40 high-priced engineers who are beavering away on the next version of Social Tables software.
