Share TweetBy MB OnlineHundreds of thousands of devotees of the Black Nazarene flocked to the Quirino Grandstand in Manila early Wednesday morning to join the grand procession or the Traslacion. Reverand Monsignor Hernando Coronel, rector of the Quiapo Church, led the morning prayers. A total of 14 prayer stations were established within the procession route with devotees’ number usually ballooning to millions before reaching Quiapo Church. The Traslacion recalls the transfer of the Black Nazarene image from the Recollect Church in Intramuros, Manila to the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in 1787.
