‘September 25 order granting CBI sanction in the matter reeks of malafide’: DK Shivakumar tells court in plea against CBI probe

The counsels for Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Monday made their submissions with regard to appeals against consent for the CBI investigation against him. The counsels for Yatnal and CBI had earlier made arguments against Shivakumar prior to the court vacation. The arguments were opened by Kapil Sibal appearing on behalf of Shivakumar, arguing that the original September 25 order granting CBI sanction in the matter “reeks of malafide”, thus giving a justification to a withdrawal of consent. ..it reeks of politics….this consent is not in accordance with law, it is void as a matter of law. After further arguments from Singhvi, the case is set to continue on May 31.
