The court was hearing two pleas that claimed that many speed bumps on Delhi’s roads were unauthorised and did not comply with guidelines. more-inThe Delhi High Court has noted that removal of speed breakers from roads often leaves behind potholes and sharp objects hazardous to vehicle tyres. A Bench of Justice S. Ravindra Bhat and Justice A. K. Chawla gave the direction during the hearing of two petitions seeking removal of unauthorised speed breakers on Delhi roads. The Bench also directed the Delhi government’s Public Works Department (PWD) to display on its website the certificates approving the “authorised” speed breakers. There are 589 authorised speed breakers in Delhi, according to the government portal.
