A senior police officer said the matter came to light when the Authority conducted an inquiry in suspected cases of land acquisition. But the then CEO of Yamuna Authority acquired it in order to build an entry-exit ramp under the Yamuna Expressway,” said a senior police officer. Based on the inquiry ordered, it has come to light that the land was purchased just to benefit Mr. Gupta and near relatives,” he said. The police said the officials have stated that nearly 57 hectres of land worth ₹85.49 crore in Mathura’s Bajna was purchased as part of the land scam.
