Janata Dal (Secular) MLA for Periyapatna K. Mahadev has alleged that former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi had demanded ₹80 crore from Chief Minister H.D. “I was witness to Mr. Ramesh Jarkiholi asking for the money,” Mr. Mahadev is heard claiming in a video, while participating in a public meeting in Periyapatna on Tuesday. In the video, he is heard stating that the Chief Minister was bound to take all MLAs along and maintain equilibrium. They will ask for money and threaten to resign if they are not paid,” the JD(S) MLA said. Mr. Mahadev claimed that even he was offered ₹30 crore to ₹40 crore.
