MANILA, Philippines — Marawi’s ground zero is expected to be cleared of bombs in the next two weeks, according to Task Force Bangon Marawi chief Roberto del Rosario. Del Rosario, concurrent chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, said the rehabilitation of Marawi is on track. “This month, the most affected area will be cleared of bombs. We will request the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) to declare it safe from the danger of bombs,” Del Rosario said. “With this development, we can say that the completion of the rehabilitation will be finished by December 2021,” Del Rosario said.
