Sandra Pate remembers the first time she received a Santa Claus Fund gift box. As a young immigrant from war-torn Iraq, Pate never forgot the smiles of the volunteers delivering the decorated boxes to her North York apartment building. “I specifically remember this one volunteer, where he basically gave me the box, he smiled and he walked away.
