Hindus cannot be terrorists, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh told ET in an exclusive interview, his first since deciding to contest from Bhopal , emphasising that terrorism is not in the ethos of Hinduism. Therefore, my election is on issues which matter to people of Bhopal in particular and to people of my country in general.Hindutva is not part of Hindu religion. It is against the ethos of Hinduism.The person who, as home secretary, used the word “Hindu terror” first — RK Singh — was given a ticket by BJP and was made a cabinet minister. Chief minister Kamal Nath ji asked me to contest from Bhopal. My chief minister wants me to contest from Bhopal, which we haven’t won since 1989.
