Ethiopia, one of the mineral rich countries of East Africa, has been scouting for Indian investment. Demeke Atnafu Ambulo, Consul General of Ethiopia in Mumbai, shares his views with BusinessLine on opportunities for Indian companies. India’s total trade with Ethiopia stood at $1.27 billion in 2017-18, of which India’s exports to Ethiopia were $1.23 billion and imports were $47.45 million. Indian companies have invested in agriculture and floriculture, engineering, plastics, manufacturing, cotton and textiles, water management, consultancy and information and communication technology, education, pharma and healthcare.
