‘Cinema for Humanity’ festival to be launched in Gouna in September


Entitled “Cinema for Humanity”, Gouna Film Festival is due to be launched in September in the Red Sea resort of Gouna, the Italian Aki news agency reported. The festival targets celebrating the past, present and future of cinema, as well as “contributing to achieving comprehensive cultural integrity in Egypt, the Middle East, North Africa and the whole world,” according the festival’s organizing committee. “We are honored to announce the launching of Gouna Film Festival, which targets promoting culture and cinema in Gouna as well as creating new a chance to develop and encourage all form of creative expression in the Middle East,” according to Sawiris. In addition to the prizes, the festival will honor three cinema figures from Egypt, Arab and foreign countries. Meanwhile, Tamimi said, “the festival will always be an annual meeting for filmmakers and cinema lovers whether in Egypt, the Arab countries or the whole world.
