Chittagong is blessed with a number of potential tourist destinations but it needs proper planning to attract scores of tourists from home and abroad every year. President of Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA) HM Hakim Ali made the remark on Monday in a press conference at Hotel Agrabad in the port city ahead of World Tourism Day. “The present government has decided to underscore tourism and a substantial allocation has been disbursed for the development of this sector. As in previous years, Hotel Agrabad has chalked out an elaborate programme to observe World Tourism Day. “We have undertaken the programmes to popularise the tourist spots of Chittagong among the public,” said Hakim.
