DAVAO CITY – More than 800 families have evacuated to temporary shelters in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as the local government prepares for the landfall of tropical storm “Auring” in the Caraga region Sunday. Meanwhile, hundreds of residents in Davao de Oro evacuated to higher grounds Friday as Auring approached Mindanao. Barangay Cabinuangan, New Bataan said in its official Facebook page that 15 families, composed of 37 people, had evacuated to New Bataan National High School (NBNHS) and purok buildings following the incessant rainfall. The Davao de Oro provincial government has contacted a rescue team in Maragusan to help clear the highway. Tyron Uy ensured that the disaster risk reduction and management team of the province is ready to provide necessary aid.
