"Yardi Gras" has begun in Lafayette. Krewe de Canailles, the local walking krewe, is hosting "Cruise de Canailles: Oh, The Places We Didn’t Go!". Instead of the floats coming to a crowd in downtown Lafayette, people are driving to the floats in yards this year. On Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m, the city-wide celebration will be similar to driving around and looking at Christmas lights but with Mardi Gras decorated homes and businesses, revelry for drive-by viewing. The map has over 40 homes spread out across Lafayette Parish, with themes such as 'Live Concerts' and 'Botched Beach Trip.'
