Cord have meanwhile said that they will hold parallel Madaraka Day celebrations at Uhuru Park. Cord leaders are entitled to hold parallel Madaraka Day celebrations as long as they do so peacefully, Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery said on Friday. President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead the nation in marking the Madaraka Day celebrations in Nakuru at the Afraha stadium on June 1. Political analysts see CORD’s planned parallel celebrations as an opportunity they are banking on to popularize their anti-IEBC sentiments. Majority of them are lawyers although it is unfortunate that they have started breaking the law,” Nkaissery said.
