A “robust and flexible” defence industry lies at the centre of Nato’s “core business” — deterrence and defence. Over the years, Nato has become a tool for the US to drive up the sales of its defence companies. Nato’s expansion and Israel’s relentless brutality against Palestinians too are opportunities for the US to push the demand of its arms sales. And Nato is helping the US to realise its goal of boosting its arms sales. Solar radiation may have an impact on Earth's deep interior, according to a collaborative study by researchers from China and Romania. According to the researchers, solar radiation varies with latitude, creating temperature gradients on the sea surface that influence the distribution of marine life. This process significantly affects the redox state of arc magma. They examined tiny melt inclusions within olivine minerals and bulk rock data to determine the redox state of arc magma. Understanding the spatial and temporal distribution of redox state at global subduction zones has significant implications for predicting the locations and availability of these critical resources.

However, our international ties with the US have proven to be a forced marriage of two conflicting nations, with unprecedented vicissitudes over the 75 years of our relationship. At one point, Pakistan was declared by the US as a front-line state in the war on terror post-9/11. Conversely, Pakistan has also been surreptitiously accused of numerous allegations and charges of having links with terrorist organizations. Given the strained relations between Pakistan and the US, it is crucial to proceed with cautious measures to ensure cordial ties. All misunderstandings must be obliterated to move forward sagaciously and prudently, benefiting from our diplomatic ties.

Sheikh Hasina’s party continues to maintain a disturbing fascination with Pakistan and the conflict that gave birth to the country. Sheikh Hasina’s fourth term has seen further entrenchment of her party, erosion of constitutional checks, and attacks against her opponents. The protests may have started with the quota policy, but now represent a total rejection of her policies.
