Georgia places 15 on preseason All-SEC teams, a league best 6 on the first team
Fifteen Georgia Bulldogs were named by members of the media to the 2024 Preseason Media Days All-SEC Team. Ex-PTI MPA Adeel Khan arrested
KARACHI - Former Adeel Khan was apprehended following the cancellation of his bail in connection with three cases linked to the May 9 tragedy, as ordered by the Special Anti-Terrorism Court. During proceedings at the Anti-Terrorism Complex in Karachi Central Jail, the court mandated Khan’s arrest for non-appearance. Court police promptly executed the order. While Khan faced arrest, other notable PTI figures, including Haleem Adil Sheikh and Raja Azhar, were present in court. The hearing for the three cases, registered at the Tipu Sultan and Firozabad police stations, has been adjourned until August 5.

Following a briefing on the air ambulance service and Muharram response at the Rescue 1122 headquarters, he said the air ambulance facility was being provided to the people of Punjab for the first time in the country’s history. Emergency Services Secretary Dr Rizwan Naseer said preparations for the Rescue 1122 Air Ambulance Service were about to be completed. The minister said the air ambulance service shall be started soon in Punjab and directed the emergency services secretary to organise online trainings.

PMD DG urges citizens, tourists to take extra monsoon precautions
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Director General Mehar Sahibzada Khan Thursday said the citizens and tourists to adopt precautionary measures in view of continuing the prediction of rainfall of Monsoon season till July 21 and asked to make a conscious effort to stay away from land-slide areas. Talking to PTV news channel, he said that citizens should keep children away from waterlogged areas, electrical wires, and poles, adding, that the safety of citizens’ lives and property is our highest priority. Moreover, to alert local communities, tourists, and travelers in the areas at risk, departments have been instructed to perform their designated duties. Locals and tourists have also been advised to avoid unnecessary travel. Landslides may disrupt roads in the vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan during the spell, he added.

Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi move IHC against arrest in Toshakhana case
PTI founder and his wife approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against their arrest in the Toshakhana case. On behalf of and his wife , the application was filed in the IHC by Barrister Salman Safdar and Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry. It is also requested to issue orders for their release and to make the arrest subject to the orders of the High Court in the future. The high courts have emphasized in their judgments that an arrest cannot be made merely on the filing of a case, the petition said. There is also a violation of the orders of the High Court.

Nawaz to consult allies following SC verdict on reserved seats
PML-N President and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to consult the allies to discuss the political situation in the aftermath of Supreme Court verdict on reserved seats. According to sources, the PML-N supremo wanted to consult the allies before convening the party’s meeting of senior leadership. Pakistan Railways announces increase in fare from July 19
