Man arrested over alleged attempted child kidnapping in DublinMichael BoltonA man has been arrested over an alleged incident on Sheriff Street in Dublin 1 on Thursday afternoon. For the first five years of my life, I was the proverbial apple of her eye. To the outside world, I live a charmed life in the Cotswolds with my partner and our French bulldog. But as Grandma lived nearby with my uncle, she was a constant presence in my life. Unfortunately, even though Grandma wasn't in my life any more, my feelings of inadequacy didn't go away. But now I know that little girl isn't to blame and I wish I could give her a hug and tell her: 'It was never your fault that Grandma loved you less.'

Gardai remove 200 asylum seekers from Mount Street on coaches“My tent is gone so I will have to wander the streets. At 7.45am, two gardaí on motorbikes arrived from the canal end of Mount Street and positioned themselves close to the coaches. Almost immediately, the migrants began to return to Mount Street and take up camp again until this latest action to move them once more. Mount Street was reopened to the public at about 3pm, with measures in place to stop any more tents being erected again.

By Cate McCurry, PACalls for “urgent action” to address sex education in schools have been made after new figures revealed an increase in the number of young people not using contraception. It revealed that one in four 15- to 17-year-olds report ever having sex, which remained the same as in 2018 (25 per cent). Some 18 per cent report having ever used vapes or e-cigarettes and 13 per cent report having ever used vapes or e-cigarettes in the last 30 days. One in four children report eating fruit and 23 per cent report eating vegetables every day. It also found that 10 per cent of girls reported experiencing period poverty, which is defined as being unable to afford period products.

Judge Comerford said that the current ‘exhaustive' Garda investigation that resulted in Mr Harmon’s guilty pleas involved gardaí taking 80 witness statements. He said at night, Mr Harmon would come into the tent at night and put his hands into their pyjamas. Counsel for Mr Harmon, Donal Cronin BL said that Mr Harmon is alone in this world after becoming estranged from his family following the Waterford case. He said more than 40 years have passed since Mr Harmon left the scouts and there has been no further evidence of wrongdoing. Speaking after Mr Harmon was jailed today, one of the five outside Ennis courthouse said he was happy with the sentence imposed.
