A jury has found Elon Musk liable for misleading investors by deliberately driving down Twitter’s stock price in the tumultuous months leading up to his 2022 acquisition of the social media company for $44 billion (€38 billion). But it absolved him of some fraud allegations, finding that he did not “scheme” to mislead investors. The civil trial in San Francisco centred on a class-action lawsuit filed just before Musk took control of Twitter, which he later renamed X. Jurors were asked to decide if two tweets and comments Musk made on a podcast in May 2022 amounted to him intentionally defrauding Twitter shareholders, who sold their shares based on Musk’s statements. After Musk tried to back out, Twitter went to court in Delaware to force him to honour his original deal.

He also knows his team needs to stay focused if they are to leave Durban with valuable United Rugby Championship points after Saturday’s meeting with the Sharks. For all the Springbok quality within the Sharks squad, it has been another campaign of underperformance. “Those big results, (are) something we've probably struggled with a little bit this year, we've come out the wrong side of a lot of big games,” Daly said. Obviously, we're missing a couple of internationals, but that's just the nature of this time of the season. Replacements: Lee Barron, Josh Wycherley, John Ryan, Edwin Edogbo, Fineen Wycherley, Paddy Patterson, Dan Kelly, Brian Gleeson.

The couple looked chuffed to be sharing the day as they arrived at Shark Beach, in Vaucluse. The couple looked comfortable in each other's company as they took in some rays on the sand. At one point Ed's sun-smart beach date dutifully applied sunscreen to his back before the couple lay on their stomachs to work on their tans. While there was no PDA during the beach date, the couple were happy to while away a few hours chatting on the sand. Prior to her relationship with Ed, Jaynie was married to radio executive Mark Shaw.

Back in the summer of 2023, Nick Griggs stood on the line in Budapest at his first World Championships alongside Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen. But ahead of this evening’s world indoor 3000m final in Torun, Poland, that feeling is long gone for the 21-year-old Tyrone athlete. “I wasn’t expecting to beat them because I didn’t think I was good enough and right enough, I wasn’t. He went on to become the fastest Irish U-20 in history at 1500m, the mile, 3000m and 5000m, and then later claimed all those same records at U-23 level. “You've allowed yourself to be in a world final,” he says.

The Wall Street Journal polled economists to see how high oil prices would have to rise - and how long they'd have to stay elevated - to push the US economy towards recession. They said that oil would have to stay around $138 a barrel for about three months to push the US economy towards a recession. So far, the Iran war has lasted almost three weeks and US oil prices have been hovering around $95 - compared to an average price of $65 in February. Join the debate How should the US handle soaring oil prices if conflict in the Middle East threatens our economy?

It is a pity that the photo doesn’t show the critical feature - the stem/stipe - which is blackish in this species. Normally it grows on dead wood, but it has also been recorded on living trees, which were most likely moribund.

Asked by a Japanese journalist why the US had not given its allies forewarning of its attack on Iran, Trump retorted:“Who knows better about surprise than Japan? During his meeting with Martin, Trump spent most of his time complaining and criticising European leaders in particular for not being willing to send their fleets to the Strait of Hormuz. There is a sentimental view of Ireland in the US that goes beyond party politics, and beyond politics. If you look at the people Trump has clashed with in the White House, they tend to be leaders he dislikes or countries he dislikes. And finally ...Pat has surpassed himself with another must-read piece on the Taoiseach’s visit to Washington that was published today.

However, an older mating partner will have ‘good’ genes which helped him, or her, survive and prosper. The humpback whale’s breaching display is one the great sights of the natural world and its mysterious half-hour-long song has few equals in the animal kingdom. During the era of industrial whaling, however, humpbacks, like all the great whales, were hunted mercilessly for their oil. The composition of a whale’s skin changes with age, so chemical analysis of a skin sample enables a whale’s age to be determined. The mating of humpbacks has never been observed, but males can be seen escorting and guarding females.
