Former President, John Dramani Mahama, has asked the government to halt the proposed building of constituency offices for MPs until the economy is out of the woods. In a Facebook post, Mahama mentioned that in the interim office spaces can be found within the District Assemblies or other government buildings for the purpose. “The proposed building of Constituency offices for MPs should be shelved until the economy is out of the woods. In the interim, office space can be found within the District Assemblies or other government buildings for the purpose. Such projects must have tangible and measurable impact on job creation and national development,” Mahama posted on Facebook.

The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has said the schools’ selection process is entirely free and does not involve collection of monies. The assurance comes on the back of the practice of some heads of Basic Schools, collecting monies from the current batch of Junior High School (JHS) students, who report to their former schools to select Senior High Schools (SHSs) for placement. The school selection activity is entirely free and as such no levy or fee should be charged in connection with it,” it said. The selection of schools by candidates, parents/guardians began on Monday, 31 October and is expected to end, Friday, 18 November 2022. Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, has said one of the Akufo-Addo-led initiatives - One District One Factory (1D1F) - will be scrapped if the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins the 2024 general elections. Speaking on TV3's Key Points programme on November 5, 2022, the former Deputy Trade and Industry Minister described the 1D1F policy as a slogan for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP). "1D1F is nothing but a slogan...the 1D1F is something that when the NDC takes over we will throw out. The way it is in this form is not helping,” the Tamale Central MP stated. The Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, has in recent times noted that the government's One District One Factory (1D1F) will soon industrialize the local economy.

Kwabena Agyepong who served as Press Secretary to former president John Agyekum Kufuor between 2001 and 2006 has said he declined a ministerial appointment offered to him by his boss after serving for almost six years. The decision to not accept the appointment, according to Kwabena Agyepong was informed by the quest to exit from the administration and focus on some other equally important activities. “I just felt I had to leave politics, so, although the president called me and offered me a deputy ministerial position, I respectfully declined.”Sharing his work experience with the former president, Mr. Agyepong told Deloris Frimpong Manso on The Delay Show that his boss was indeed a diplomat. He did so just to get a smooth transition,” the former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) remarked. Meanwhile, Agyepong has said he never acquired any property during his tenure as Press Secretary to Mr. Kufuor.

Odike blamed the president for the current economic turmoil, adding that power does not lie with Akufo-Addo but the citizens of Ghana. Speaking at the 'Kume Preko Reloaded' demonstration held in Accra on November 5, the politician reiterated, "I am telling you Akufo-Addo won't be president by January 2023. But Odike threatened that if by Monday, Akufo-Addo does not heed the calls of Ghanaians, there will be a continuous nationwide demonstration. Ghanaians showed up in their numbers to demonstrate in demand for better living conditions and also called for the resignation of Akufo-Addo, Bawumia, and Ken Ofori-Atta at the demonstration.

Cassiel Ato Forson, Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency in the Central Region has alleged that government went on a borrowing spree in the lead-up to the 2020 polls. Ato Forson, who is the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Finance Committee said a total of GH¢67 billion was borrowed, an amount which he says the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government splurged on campaigning. He said the amount was also shared among members of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP, like 'kelewele' – a local snack made of fried chopped plantain with pepper usually accompanied with groundnuts. “Because of the elections, they decided to borrow GH¢67 billion, and shared the money to their party supporters. They shared Ghana’s money like kelewele,” Ato Forson claimed in an interview with pro-National Democratic Congress channel, Woezor TV.
