The agency has also affirmed the country’s long term issuer rating’s at B3. This development, according to the portal, reflects Ghana’s high and increasing debt burden which will likely not reduce any time soon. The agency also cited a persistent weak debt affordability, high gross borrowing requirements and liquidity challenges, social and financial risks following at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, as its reasons for the ratings. Moody’s said Ghana will, for the time being, depend on domestic and international bond issuance to address financing needs.

According to information available to MyNewsGh.com, the Immigration officers On 6th September, 2021 at about 1545hr GMT, Officers and the Command Patrol team on their normal Patrols duties received intelligence from two persons on a Motorbike that their unregistered Boxer motorbike has been stolen at a gunpoint. Emmanuel Kombat in his written statement gave information on his accomplice Lala Mohammed who was later arrested by the Immigration Officers. Officers were able to retrieve one locally manufactured gun and three (3) cartridges from Lala Mohammed and one Boxer unregistered Motorbike which was being used by Emmanuel Kombat at the time of his arrest, two phones (Infinix Android phone and Itel phone) at the time of the arrest. However, a mob from the communities who wanted to lynch the arrested suspects caused damage to vehicles belonging to the Ghana Immigration Immigration Service.

It is, however, interesting to note that some women no matter the gravity of physical abuse they face, continue to stay. GhanaWeb visited the streets of Accra to solicit opinions on why some women endure physical abuse in their marriages instead of backing out. “What has happened in Guinea is painful. The continent of Africa within a year has experienced three coups and one attempted government takeover. Mali alone witnessed two with the recent event in Guinea becoming the latest incident of government topple in a year. Several of the comments shared in the aftermath of the coup in Guinea have attributed the seeming emergence of coup d’etats in Africa to a failure on the part of governing bodies on the continent. He warned that Africa may be plunged back into the era of rampant coup d’etats if the right measures are not taken.

General News of Tuesday, 7 September 2021Source: 3news.comThe Ghana Railways Company Limited has issued a stern warning to persons who have made it their preoccupation to steal rail lines (tracks) and steel sleepers belonging to the company to desist from such irresponsible and unpatriotic behaviour immediately. “The unfortunate behaviour of these miscreants has gone a long way in thwarting the efforts of the Government of Ghana in revamping the railway sector in the country,” a statement issued by the company and signed by its acting Managing Director, Dr Ing. The statement further warned that those involved in stealing rails, steel sleepers, and other railway materials would severely be dealt with by law enforcement agencies when caught. The company noted that the railway line is a national asset. Therefore, it is an offence for any unauthorized persons to remove any railway material from railway premises without authorization.

According to the report, the grandfather of the girl told the paper that the headmaster gave the final-year student several strokes of the cane after she offered her cardigan to another mate of hers. Upon seeing the boy with another cardigan, the report added, the headmaster got furious and asked whose cardigan he was wearing. “As a result, he summoned all students present to further enquire about who helped the boy with the cardigan. Fearing they might be punished collectively, a boy pointed at Mary, following which the rest were freed,” the report stated. The student is said to have later reported the incident to her parents, who further lodged a complaint at the police station.

Mr. Andah urged SMEs to capitalize on the digitalization agenda of the Government and minimize cash transactions. Mr. Andah encouraged Banks to aid SMEs upscale their enterprises into large corporate Institutions by providing advisory services and also take a critical look at the interest rates charged on loans. He gave an example of how the Bank of Africa has designed a product specifically for SME businesses in its quest to promote and grow the SME segment. The Bank is currently granting loans in excess of GH¢250,000.00 without collaterals and financials to SME businesses. On the side of the government, Mr. Andah applauded it for all the good initiatives it had rolled out to support the SME sector.
