Footwear firm Metro plans to raise ₹250 cr.
Footwear retailer Metro Brands Ltd is planning to tap the capital market to raise fresh capital of up to ₹250 crore a large part of which will be utilised for opening 219 new stores under Metro, Mochi, Walkway and Crocs brands. “We are bullish about footwear retailing in India,” said Rafique A. Malik, chairman. Based on this three-year plan, a detailed yearly plan is prepared,” said Farah Malik Bhanji, MD. An independent auditor found that missing bolts and poor welding contributed to the crash, findings confirmed in a separate investigation by the Mexico City attorney general's office. Slim has said his construction firm, Grupo Carso (GCARSOA1.MX), which helped build the section that collapsed, will repair the line at no cost to the government. Mexico's Grupo ICA (ICA.MX) and France's Alstom (ALSO.PA) were a part of the consortium that built the full line.

Bas, who has been deputy leader of the SPD’s parliamentary group since 2019, would be the third woman to serve as Bundestag president.

Delhi: Man arrested outside metro station for drugging old woman, stealing her jewellery
A 55-year-old man was arrested outside Azadpur metro station by the Delhi Police for allegedly drugging a 65-year-old woman and stealing her gold jewellery. The auto driver, Titu, soon noticed that the old woman was unconscious and heard her bangles breaking. He found Singh’s activities suspicious and stopped outside the Azadpur metro station where cops were stationed. Singh saw the police and tried to flee but the auto driver screamed for help and the cops chased him. He was arrested outside the metro station and the woman was rushed to a hospital.

Mumbai: Track-laying to start on Metro 2A corridor
MUMBAI: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has completed work on building the viaduct on the entire 18.5km stretch of Metro 2A corridor between DN Nagar and Dahisar along the Link road.The Adarsh Nagar stretch near Oshiwara was the only missing link on this corridor where work had stalled for almost four years because of encroachments. On October 5, the I-girder was launched at Adarsh Nagar junction, ensuring that the missing link has been bridged. The 42-ton, 24m-long girder was erected in 30 minutes. MMRDA will now be able to lay tracks on this stretch.Metropolitan commissioner SVR Srinivas said, “We completed the rehabilitation process of over 40 families in four months and it took 10 days to launch this girder.” The Metro 2A is divided into Phase I and II. MMRDA is plans to open Phase I between Dahanurkarwadi-Dahisar to Aarey Metro station of Metro 7 by January.

Initially, passenger ridership remained very low and week-wise average daily ridership of only 2,877 passengers could be achieved. Signages and markings are provided in the station area and inside trains for maintaining proper social distance amongst passengers, she added. Due to these measures taken by the NMRC, the confidence of commuters has been growing gradually, Maheshwari said, adding passengers are advised to use the Noida Metro services without any fear or inhibition.

MTA checks subway fleet by manufacturer of faulty DC Metro trains
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority took all of its 7000 Series trains built by Kawasaki offline Sunday night. The 7000 Series are Metro’s newest rapid transit cars in the fleet, but NTSB found issues with the axles and urged other transit agencies that use Kawasaki Rail cars to check their fleet. A Port Authority spokesperson said the bi-state agency is reviewing the issue, but officials don’t believe it affects their 350-strong fleet of Kawasaki-made PA-5 train cars. MTA is currently test-driving new Kawasaki subway models called the R211, which are slated to roll out for service between September 2022 and 2024. NYCT currently has 3,141 subway cars and locomotives made by Kawasaki in its stable, amounting to about 44% the agency’s total fleet of 7,092 cars.
