"People, especially women, are prioritizing their education, careers and personal growth over settling down, which means they are marrying later." Singlehood is "absolutely" on the rise, says Geoff MacDonald, a professor of psychology who studies the well-being of singles at the University of Toronto. Justin Frost says high expectations among women and unrealistic standards pushed by social media have put a 'dark cloud' over dating. It will have an impact on housing because they need smaller housing, cheaper housing, because these days housing is supported by two people, not one." For Bow, she says she will continue to spread the word on the benefits of singlehood through her content on social media.

Earlier, Iran fired missiles at targets in Israel and Gulf Arab states in retaliation, while Israel pledged "non-stop" strikes against Iran's leaders and military. In the 12-day war in June, Israeli and American strikes greatly weakened Iran's air defences, military leadership and nuclear program. Araghchi, Iran's foreign affairs minister, blamed such strikes on the U.S. and Israel for starting the war. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said on Sunday that Israel will have "a non-stop air train" of strikes against military and leadership targets in Iran. New research using drug-checking results could provide an insight into why toxic drug death tolls have been on a downward trend for two years now in B.C. But scientists and officials say there are likely multiple factors behind exactly why the number of drug-related deaths in B.C. The drug supply is still as toxic and unpredictable as ever, if not more so," said Samuel Tobias, a researcher at the B.C. Advertisement AdvertisementAdvertisement AdvertisementThe research found that the samples at drug checking sites became less concentrated in fentanyl over the years, which was associated with a drop in toxic drug deaths. 'Many lives were lost'Tobias notes, however, that lowered fentanyl concentration alone isn't the sole factor behind the provincewide, and continent-wide, drop in toxic drug deaths.

Trouble on the borderAmong the countries most at risk from the fallout of El Mencho’s killing is Guatemala, according to analysts. While the CJNG managed to largely establish dominance in the region, the Sinaloa cartel still maintains a presence in Chiapas. This contest is inexorably linked to Mexican organized crime, with Los Lobos backed by CJNG and Los Choneros tied to the Sinaloa cartel. In the case of an internal struggle over El Mencho’s succession or a split in the Jalisco cartel, Los Lobos could lose backing from their key benefactor. While the CJNG’s succession process remains opaque, authorities across Latin America will be closely monitoring the cartel’s next steps after El Mencho’s death.

While the IJV cites a survey indicating that only 51 per cent of Jewish Canadian identify as Zionists, a 2025 survey found that only 1 per cent of Canadian Jews identify as anti-Zionists. Throughout history, tokenized voices have been elevated to legitimize broader campaigns against the communities they come from. While minority views can be valuable for an inclusive discussion, tokenized voices are harmful to any discussion, particularly when those tokenized voices push a radical ideology. Presenting such fringe voices as authoritative representatives of Jewish opinion distorts public understanding and misleads audiences about the breadth of Jewish perspectives. Legitimizing those who distort Jewish identity to attack Jewish existence aren’t Canadian values — they are someone else’s values.

For months, the PA system for a central Newfoundland school hasn’t worked, and while it’s set to be fixed soon, advocates are questioning why it has taken so long to address. She said she found out the PA system wasn’t working around Christmas time, but initially thought it was a small problem or glitch. January started, no PA system. She said the mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge prompted further safety concerns. (Radio Canada)NDP Leader Jim Dinn said the lack of a functioning PA system is a safety issue, but he’s not surprised the problem has gone unresolved for months.
