The company’s marketing coordinator Angela Robinson says employers should consider playing motivational music at work because “sometimes internal drive falters, and music is a quick way for workers to regain energy and passion.”Yes, but. In an opinion written by San Diego-based Circuit Judge M. Margaret McKeown, the court concluded that persistently played denigrating music, as with other “auditory offenses,” may constitute an unlawful hostile work environment. Playing the music therefore was not the kind of severe or pervasive misconduct that may constitute hostile environment sexual harassment. The appellate court, said Judge McKeown, was not passing judgment on the appropriateness of music in the workplace or labeling any particular music genre misogynistic. A steady stream of sexually demeaning language may create an unlawful hostile work environment.

Jury issues 13 recommendations following inquest into 2021 death of infant
The week of Stone-Kirk’s death, FCS staff were scrambling to find a babysitter after Stone became too ill with COVID-19 to care for the children. The Stone-Kirk children had also tested positive for COVID-19. Wolftail told the inquestThe Stone-Kirk children ended up spending two nights at Wolftail’s home, the jury heard. The jury recommended creating emergency plans for similar situations, and keeping a roster of possible babysitters in Yukon communities. The jury recommended FCS support the development of such resources.

ARLINGTON, Texas - Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk has left Toronto’s game with the Texas Rangers after being hit by a pitch. He underwent X-rays that came back negative for a fracture. Danny Jansen came into pinch run for Kirk after Jon Gray’s pitch struck him in the second inning. Kirk is hitting .253 this season with three home runs and 21 runs batted in. The 24-year-old Kirk was named to his first all-star team last season and earned a Silver Slugger award.
