Nebraska deer hunters should be aware of some changes for the 2024 season. Hunters must check in their deer by either physically visiting a check station, as in seasons past, or by calling in via the Telecheck phone number. Deer season dates are as follows. The three day Special Landowner season runs from Saturday, Nov. 9 through Monday, Nov. 11, prior to the regular firearm season. Other deer seasons include the October River Antlerless Firearm season Oct. 1-15, and the Late Antlerless Only Firearm season Jan. 1-15, 2025.

So we gave up and turned to Prime Video, which is where we came across a documentary titled “The 50 Worst Movies Ever Made.” I figured it was merely a list of Elvis flicks, but his, it turns out, were Shakespearean in comparison. What else can you say about a list in which “They Saved Hitler’s Brain” was only considered to be the 39th worst movie ever made? Movies about women — most of them running around screaming and wearing tight sweaters — were prominent in the ‘50s. According to the documentary, the worst movie of all time was “The Unworldly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-up Zombies.” Which clearly was the worst movie title of all time. But my vote for worst movie would have gone to “The Thing With Two Heads,” a 1972 classic involving an arthritic white bigot having his head surgically attached to the body of a healthy Black, convict.

Gunman in Trump rally attack flew drone over rally site in advance of event, official says
WASHINGTON (AP) — The gunman in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump is believed to have flown a drone around the Pennsylvania rally site ahead of time in an apparent attempt to scope out the site before the event, a law enforcement official said Saturday. The drone has been recovered by the FBI, which is leading the investigation into last Saturday's shooting at the rally by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. The official who described the drone was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity. Trump said this week that one bullet clipped his right ear. More details about the investigation are expected to be made public in the coming week when FBI Director Chris Wray appears before the House Judiciary Committee.
