When it comes to oil, the SNP’s position is as slippery as the stuff itself, while on the subject of gas, grasping their position is about as easy as clutching a handful of that other North Sea product. That’s especially true when, as is so often the case, their message changes from week to week. Those include a hike in windfall taxes, which experts have rightly pointed out would endanger tens of thousands of jobs and place the North Sea energy sector “on death row”, as one report put it. Labour’s plans for Scotland’s oil and gas industry are indeed disastrous. The First Minister even gave a speech in New York last year saying he wanted to stop Scotland being the “oil and gas capital of Europe”.

I was gifted a three-course meal with bottomless prosecco for two at The Mayfair Lounge and Grill at The Cavendish through Buy A Gift. Instead, we were left reminiscing on a disastrous meal that we didn’t even see the dessert off, and worst of all we were left starving. I went to The Cavendish Mayfair and was left hungryTaking it back to the start, I will admit that I was slightly concerned from the start when booking the meal seemed to be more of a hassle than anything else. We both picked our three courses, I went for the Pigeon for starters, Honey Duck for main and lastly the Warm Poached Rhubarb for dessert. Although our three-course meal at The Cavendish was not smooth sailing, it was something I’ll have trouble forgetting.

America still has Flagship First on its fleet of 20 777-300s, although America plans to get rid of long-haul First Class Class altogether by the end of this year. And 3) the ground experience is top notch including a dedicated ‘First Class Terminal’ from where a car will then take you directly to your departing aircraft. However, if originating in Frankfurt, you can use the dedicated ‘First Class Terminal’ or FCT as it is known. Once through, I followed the ‘Lufthansa Lounge’ signs and walked and walked until I finally reached the first class lounge. Or I think my other half’s response to the little video tour that I sent him might sum it up: ‘Is that the First Class lounge or Business Class’?

CONFLICT and God’s faithfulness in the face of its horrors were the key themes of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s address at the opening of the General Synod in Westminster on Friday afternoon. “We live in a world of suffering,” he said, but in the face of such suffering, he suggested, the Church should not shy away from its work, including its internal struggles. He quoted the former Bishop of Chichester George Bell, who, on the eve of the Second World War, said that, in times such as these, the Church should be “even more the Church”. The absence of a comparable debate on Gaza was highlighted by protesters, standing outside Church House as Synod members arrived for the opening session there. Criticism of the Church and figures within it was often vociferous, and “expressions of hatred” came often from within the Church, Archbishop Welby said.
