As a former mayor, Wayne would have an idea of the processes involved and could have acted much faster if he wanted to. So, question seven is why didn’t Wayne step in and show some leadership by taking control earlier instead of sitting back?

The autumn breezes have well and truly blown through the real estate auction rooms, with the number of properties offered at the latest auctions more than halved from the summer peak. Interest.co.nz monitored 144 residential property auctions around the country over the week from April 8-14, down from around 300 a week at the peak of the summer selling season in March. Of the 144 properties offered at the latest auctions, 42 were sold under the hammer, giving an overall sales rate of 29%, down slightly from 33% the previous week. Overall auction sales rates have hovered at around a third for most of this year. Get Covid the week of your university graduation? Just as it has for many students, Covid had already made it a long road to graduation for Grace. After finishing her studies in November 2021, she was told her grades wouldn’t be back in time for that year’s December graduation ceremony. “We are not able to defer you to the next celebration,” the university told Grace in an email. The university spokesperson said they would be “concerned” if this was the case.

"The Dom", which was started 21 years ago as a merger of The Dominion and The Evening Post, is being rebranded to just The Post. She declined RNZ's request for an interview today, saying the team was focused on giving The Dominion Post "a fitting farewell" over the next fortnight before launching The Post. It was actually under Pankhurst's editorship that The Dominion Post ran a campaign to make New Zealand a republic. Republican Movement chair Lewis Holden said the 1907 royal proclamation of dominion status has never been revoked, so technically New Zealand was still a dominion.

The Dominion Post, New Zealand’s oldest political newspaper, is undergoing a transformation to embrace a more contemporary feel. With a rich history of journalism spanning over 158 years, the newspaper will be shedding the “Dominion” from its name and relaunching itself as “The Post”. The change was announced via a special wrap on today’s copies of The Dominion Post and the new name will appear in newspapers from Saturday 29 April onwards. “The Post will be New Zealand’s political paper, with a long history of holding the powerful to account. The Dominion Post was formed in 2002 when The Dominion newspaper merged with The Evening Post.
