The Class 10 Board examination in 2031 will require students to write an exam for the third language as well, unlike the current system of two languages. Official sources said English will be considered a “foreign” language. The NEP states that at least two of the three languages should be “native to India”. For schools that teach English in Class 6, it will become the one “foreign” language that can be taught, in addition to two Indian languages, a source said. If another foreign language is taught as the third language in Class 6, like French or German, it will have to be accompanied by two Indian languages, the source said.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday conducted searches at the residence of industrialist Anil Ambani and the registered offices of Reliance Communications (RCOM) in connection with a fresh bank fraud case involving the Bank of Baroda, officials said. The case, registered based on a complaint from the bank on February 24, 2026, alleges that Anil Ambani and RCOM diverted and misutilised loans, causing a loss of over Rs 2,220 crore. Of these, Rs 6,265.85 crore was utilized for repayment of other banks' loans and Rs 5,501.56 crore for payment to related/connected parties, while Rs 3,674.85 crore was invested in fixed deposits and mutual funds. The loan in question involved Bank of Baroda, the erstwhile Vijaya Bank, and Dena Bank (now merged with Bank of Baroda), and is separate from an earlier RCOM case registered by the CBI based on an SBI-led bank consortium. "After registration of this case, the CBI has conducted searches at the residence of Anil Ambani and the registered offices of Reliance Communication Ltd.

जागरण संवाददाता, नई दिल्ली। पटियाला हाउस स्थित फैमिली कोर्ट ने भारतीय क्रिकेटर शिखर धवन को उनकी पूर्व पत्नी के साथ चल रहे वैवाहिक विवाद में बड़ी राहत देते हुए ऑस्ट्रेलियाई फैमिली कोर्ट के आदेशों को भारत में माने जाने से इनकार कर दिया है।अदालत ने संपत्ति विवाद से जुड़े मामले में धवन के पक्ष में फैसला सुनाते हुए विदेश में पारित आदेशों की वैधता पर महत्वपूर्ण टिप्पणी की। फैमिली कोर्ट ने उनकी पूर्व पत्नी ऐशा मुखर्जी को 5.7 करोड़ रुपये लौटाने का आदेश दिया है।साथ ही, इस रकम पर नौ प्रतिशत सालाना ब्याज भी देना होगा, वो भी उस तारीख से जब धवन ने केस दायर किया था। कोर्ट ने कहा कि ये रकम एक्सटार्शन (जबरदस्ती वसूली), धोखाधड़ी और धमकियों के जरिए ली गई थी।फैमिली कोर्ट ने स्पष्ट किया कि ऑस्ट्रेलिया की फैमिली कोर्ट द्वारा पारित संपत्ति निपटान से संबंधित आदेश भारत में लागू नहीं होंगे और इन्हें धवन के खिलाफ प्रवर्तित नहीं किया जा सकता है। विशेष न्यायाधीश देवेंद्र कुमार गर्ग ने इस मामले में फैसला सुनाया। उन्होंने शिखर धवन और उनकी पूर्व पत्नी ऐशा मुखर्जी के बीच हुए सभी सेटलमेंट (समझौते) को रद कर दिया। विशेष न्यायाधीश ने पाया कि धवन से ये समझौते धमकी, जबरदस्ती, ठगी, धोखाधड़ी और एक्सटार्शन के जरिए किए गए थे।

The five-day annual ‘Teppotsavams’ got under way at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on Thursday evening, with traditional rituals marking the commencement of the float festival. On the inaugural day, the idols of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Sita and Hanuman were taken in a ceremonial procession to the temple tank ‘Pushkarini’. Amid chanting of Vedic hymns, the idols were placed on a decorated two-tier float illuminated with colourful lights and adorned with flowers. The float was taken for three rounds in the waters of the tank as part of the customary observance. The surroundings of the temple tank was lit up with illuminated cut-outs depicting various forms of Lord Maha Vishnu and the presiding deity, Lord Venkateswara.
