As always, if you have a question, email me at askkevinmcgran@gmail.com and I’ll answer it in the next Maple Leafs Mailbag. Now to this one, where we deal with a future contract for John Tavares, the icing rule, European goaltending and everything under the rainbow. I don’t think any team will pay Tavares $11 million (U.S.) again, but I imagine he’s still more than $3 million. For four years, the CHL even banned European goalies from the import draft, to try to give Canadian and American goalies more playing time. NHL teams drafted 20 goalies in 2022, and more than half were European (10 off European teams and a Russian playing in the QMJHL).

Yesterday, Postmedia ran a story in papers and on websites — including its flagship National Post — across the country examining a lawsuit launched by Rebel News boss Ezra Levant against Liberal cabinet minister Steven Guilbeault. You can also read the lawsuit for yourself over at our special website, TwitterLawsuit.ca. Last night on The Ezra Levant Show, Ezra broke down and analyzed the Post's story almost line-by-line, pointing out what they got right and what they got wrong. He also noticed something a little strange when outlets like the Post dabble in stories that Rebel News covers:But it was the second most read story in the National Post [yesterday], which makes me laugh sometimes. Justenough JustinsultsThe Holy Grail of advertising is finding a big idea. Pierre Poilievre and his advisors have found one: JustinsultsThe premise is simple. The Liberals no doubt consider these word games a great Justinjustice, but it’s not a game.

; and Jennifer Charlesworth, B.C.’s representative for children and youth, came together with others to launch the Transform the Family Justice System Collaborative earlier this year: to move the family justice system away from the unintentional harm of its current practices and toward promoting family well-being. These amendments don’t address the systemic culture of minimizing family violence that many with violent partners continue to face in family court, Hrymak said.

Toronto police have identified a suspect in the random assault that killed longtime CBC producer Michael Finlay, an investigator with the force said Friday as he pleaded with the wanted man to turn himself in. Hillier said early indications suggest there was no connection between the victim and suspect and the attack appears to have been random. CBC previously identified Finlay as the victim earlier this week, a fact Hillier confirmed on Friday. “Michael will be remembered as an exceptional storyteller, documentary-maker and editor,” Perry wrote in the letter, noting Finlay worked on several CBC programs. The public broadcaster said the longtime former CBC producer travelled the world to create radio documentaries.
