We can only prove our intention,” says Harjeet Kaur Sidhu, one of many international students who fear being deported at any moment. After 16 days of students protesting for 24 hours everyday, federal officials paused immediate deportations for international students and said they would conduct investigations to verify if the students were complicit in college admission scams that allegedly involved fraudulent documents and unscrupulous agents. “It’s a big responsibility to represent all international students,” he says. On Saturday, United Sikhs Canada held a seminar in Brampton to help ease some of their concerns; 13 Punjabi Sikh international students attended. “I had to reapply to the college when I realized it was a fake admission,” Sidhu says.

Still, “Ted Lasso” is celebrating the kind of intergenerational parent learning that makes us better as a species. Another great writer, and one, like Amis, who wrote greatly about fathers, died this past week as I wrote this piece.

WestJet is planning to wind down Sunwing Airlines, integrating the low-cost carrier into its mainline business within two years as part of a plan to streamline operations. "While we can confirm the eventual integration of Sunwing Airlines into WestJet, the anticipated timeline to do so has not been determined at this time," Julia Kaiser, spokesperson for WestJet, said in an email. "WestJet will eventually move to a one jet aircraft operating certificate (AOC) model and Sunwing Airlines will be integrated into WestJet," Corrado said in the memo, dated Wednesday. Swoop Airlines hosts a media day before the launch of its ultra low-cost service on Tuesday at Hamilton International Airport. Although it’s possible a last-minute deal could be struck, with the June 26 election approaching, time is running out. One senior member of a leading mayoral campaign predicted there’s no chance of an anti-Chow alliance forming at this late phase. A senior organizer for another candidate’s team also said an agreement to join forces against Chow looks unlikely. “I think most campaigns are sitting there thinking, ‘well, you know, we’re all pretty much the same,’” said the second source.
