This approach has attracted the attention and trust of major industry players like Google, Microsoft, AWS, Emirates and Booking.com, among the list of over 100 partners. This initiative has helped Qashio to form more key partnerships to further strengthen the eco-system for their clients. This stands out in the industry as other similar platforms are currently dealing with inefficiencies from their loyalty programs, operating with higher costs and lower profits. According to Gartner, only 10% of B2B platforms offer loyalty programs to their customers. This content is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis and has not been edited in any way.

The Middle East is witnessing a rapid expansion in its renewable energy and clean tech sectors as several countries in the region strive for economic diversification beyond oil and gas. Solar energy is anticipated to account for more than 85 percent of this capacity growth as countries capitalize on their abundant sunlight. Together, these nations are projected to contribute approximately 90 percent of the region’s renewable energy capacity growth. The project includes plans for a clean industrial hub called Oxagon, featuring the “world’s largest green hydrogen facility” at a cost of $8.4 billion. Meanwhile, the UAE is pursuing its renewable energy goals, aiming for a renewable energy mix of 44 percent by 2030.

JERUSALEM: Israel’s aggression has shifted back to parts of northern Gaza where the military said months ago the Hamas had been neutralised. And in recent days, Palestinian fighters and Israeli troops have also clashed in northern Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp, Gaza City’s Zeitun neighbourhood and other areas. Experts said the destruction of Gaza in relentless Israeli bombardment and fighting, and the lack of an alternative Palestinian government have driven Hamas recruitment. Hamas fighters also benefit from extensive territorial knowledge, said Michael Wahid Hanna, an analyst at the International Crisis Group. It’s unclear how many Hamas fighters have been killed in the war.

Raisi’s victory in an election in 2021, after heavyweight conservative and moderate rivals were disqualified by a hardline oversight body, brought all branches of power under the control of hardliners loyal to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Raisi’s 85-year-old mentor, who has the final say on all major policies. Raisi, 63, took a tough stance in now-moribund negotiations with six major powers to revive a 2015 nuclear deal, seeing a chance to win broad relief from U.S. sanctions in return for only modest curbs on Iran’s increasingly advanced nuclear programme.

Yet the World Bank notes that growth, and projected growth, is no longer diverging significantly between the two. It projects annual growth of 2.8% for oil exporters, and 2.5% for other nations. This has to be balanced against the phenomenon of the ‘crowding out’ of private sector investment by high public sector spending, which the World Bank report refers to. The World Bank noted that debt levels had been rising in the region even before the pandemic. In practice, episodes of higher growth or higher inflation over the past decade have coincided with faster debt accumulation.

Published in coordination with the 2024 Global Security Forum, of which Defense One is a media partner. But even more significant is what these developments portend for the “new rules of the game” of geopolitics in Africa: amid emerging realities, America and her allies must adjust their approach. At stake is the course of increasingly deadly conflicts and violence running across the African continent from the West African states on its Atlantic coastline to Sudan and Somalia on the Red Sea and Indian Ocean. As the 2024 Global Terrorism Index Report underscored, the epicenter of terrorism has shifted from the Middle East and North Africa to Sub-Saharan Africa, concentrated in the Sahel region, which now accounts for almost half of global deaths from terrorism.
