So why, at the end of a yearslong probe, did special counsel Jack Smith ultimately forgo charging Donald Trump with inciting one? In her 2023 ruling, Wallace said she was convinced Trump had “engaged” in insurrection, based on the harrowing evidence and testimony she’d considered. AdvertisementDisqualification hung on a persnickety distinction: Section III, or the insurrection clause, did not actually consider whether the president of the United States was considered an “officer” of the United States, Wallace found. To succeed in trying Trump for inciting an insurrection, they would have to prove subjective intent showing that Trump meant to cause the full range of violence that day. Before even touching the question of whether Trump incited an insurrection, prosecutors at minimum needed guidance on exactly what proof is required to establish that an insurrection took place, and how to distinguish an insurrection from a riot.

“For far too long, we have relied on taxing our Great People using the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Advertisement“I am today announcing that I will create the EXTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE to collect our Tariffs, Duties, and all Revenue that come from Foreign sources,” he went on. January 20, 2025, will be the birth date of the External Revenue Service. About half of all Americans pay no income tax at all, although they do pay Social Security and Medicare taxes. While Trump’s statement says his “External Revenue Service” would start on the day of his inauguration, it is unclear how that would be possible.

Graham Norton on the set of his BBC talk show BBC/So Television/PA Media/Isabel InfantesThere are a few things Graham Norton’s BBC talk show has become synonymous with in the last 18 years – namely its eclectic mix of guests on the sofa, the host’s (often cutting) opening monologues, unpredictable audience interactions and, of course, the “big red chair”. AdvertisementBut what might surprise you to hear is that the “big red chair” was never intended to be a permanent fixture. In fact, Graham told Seth Meyers during a recent episode of his US talk show that the whole thing “happened by accident”. AdvertisementThe “big red chair” segment was actually intended as a one-off for when Ronnie Corbett was a guest during the fifth season back in 2009 (the late comedian was known for sharing anecdotes and jokes from his own armchair as part of the Two Ronnies sketch show). “A couple of weeks later we got a call from our line producer going, ‘you know that chair you had built?

“On January 20th, the flags at the Capitol will fly at full-staff to celebrate our country coming together behind the inauguration of our 47th President, Donald Trump,” Johnson announced Tuesday. Advertisement“The flags will be lowered back to half-staff the following day to continue honoring President Jimmy Carter,” he added. “The Democrats are all ‘giddy’ about our magnificent American Flag potentially being at ‘half mast’ during my Inauguration. The Capitol would not be the only locale where flags would be at full height on Jan. 20. However, raising the flag before the end of the 30-day half-staff period for Carter may violate the U.S. flag code, the section of federal law laying out customs and procedures for flying the stars and stripes.

When it was still novel in early 2020, symptoms presented themselves a little differently than they do now. Cough, high fevers, headaches, shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell were all tell tale signs that you had the dreaded coronavirus! What symptoms aren't presenting are loss of taste and smell. “I think the one thing we’re not seeing is... that loss of smell or taste that people often talked about early in the pandemic,” Nolt explained. The problem is that symptoms are acute, awful, and no meds help it besides drinking Gatorade really slowly.

I was being rewarded for driving a wedge between me and a population — angry men — that I was uniquely qualified to help. In the wake of the election, I read article after article about how Trump won this election by capitalizing on anger, especially male anger. The same angry men I had given up on had voted overwhelmingly for Trump. When all of this is considered together, it is clear that angry men are directly and indirectly harming others and themselves. This is what political anger is doing across the country right now.

Monday morning came, and we got up and out of the house, ready to have that conversation with his physician’s assistant. “I recommended a consult for a feeding tube last week, and you declined it,” she said sharply. Over the next eight days, the reclining chair in his small hospital room became my office and bed.
