A 1km long segment of National Highway 62 is called the bird market by locals. Located near the Vietnam-Cambodia border, this is the largest wild bird market in the south. Green pigeons and ruddy ground doves are the most available at the market, priced from VND50,000-VND70,000 per kilo. Long An Province People's Committee has asked Thanh Hoa District authorities to urge people to stop trading wild birds, but the market is still bustling. Loi said many species of wild birds sold at the market were not on the list of endangered species banned from trade and hunting.
